On Monday when it was day off for all of us, the entire house went on a shopping spree to the Tanger Outlets at Delaware, a nearby state. So all of us ridiculousli woke up at 4am to catch the 5.35am bus to Cape May, where we took a ferry to Delaware.
It was rumoured dat the stuff at Delaware were tax-free, n so being Singaporeans we were all veri excited bout the idea of getting a lot of stuff for less amt of money.
N so the day began wif all of us taking a 20 min walk to the bus terminal in veri cold weather, boarding the bus at 5.35am, n reaching Cape May about 40 mins later. We reached far too earli for the ferry so we took shelter from the cold weather in te supermart WAWA n all of us got a hot drink each. There the horrendous journey began. We had to walk miles before we reached the ferry terminal. Dat was fine except for the fact dat we still had the journey bac. (Dat thought sux.)
The ferry ride took an hr n 20 mins. Had to take a cab to the Tanger Outlets n when we reached there, it was crazy. We exchanged a booklet for a book of coupons where we cld get discounts n started raiding the place. So shopped we did n I ended up spending USD185. Though I felt the pinch, the money was well-spent. Bought some gifts n some stuff for myself n Bui, n I m so looking forward to giving the gifts to Bui. Heez. Bui, u noe, one third of the time I was looking out for stuff for u.
However, sth was a spoilsport dat day. I WAS NOT FEELING WELL. I was feeling so heaty. Two reasons for mi falling ill. One, I dint haf enuf slp the day b4. Two, I ate too much fries the day b4. Xuanmao brought fries bac n I had such a gd time dipping the thick fries into the creamy cheese I cldnt quite stop myself. I suffered the consequences the veri next day. Boo.
Retail therapy did help becoz I kinda forgot my illness when I was shopping. I bought shades! Finalli I got shades. I m glad Bui dint buy the Gucci pair for mi in Singapore, becoz I wld be hitting myself while I was shopping. I stepped into the Guess shop n bought a pair which I was comfortable wif but dint exactli love alot. (Y did I still buy rite? Becoz it was cheap. It cost onli USD30.) After dat, I tol Jun dat was all for mi for the day. N she said each time I said dat, sth wld happen. Indeed it did. I stepped into CK n saw thiz pair of shades which suit mi SO well! I realli love it alot. It cost USD45, but wif the discount coupon I cld get it at USD36. I knew I had oredi gotten a pair, but I loved it so much I juz had to buy it. N I m glad I did.
The journey bac home was made better by the fact dat we called for cabs. If we dint, gosh, I probably wld be bed-ridden now. I took a bath n went to bed after popping two panadols. The feeling was sucky. It definitely was not a gd thing to fall sick in a foreign land.
