Bac from the wedding dinner. It was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel. Hmm, the food was not too bad. My fave for the nite r the cold dish n coffee pork ribs. Heez. Though I dun normalli like coffee, I muz say I realli love the coffee pork ribs.

Sian my throat iz so bad. Think I haf been sleeping too late n hence the heatiness built up. Sore throat n ulcer. How sian.

Itz the last day for 2006. Mani things undone. Low morale. Haha. Best wishes for 2007!

I juz slept 11 hours!! Was so tired last nite I fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow. Yesterdae was my last day being Maris, n I think I wld kinda miss the job. I still haf 2 more days at SMC, of which after dat it wld be goodbye. N thiz time itz realli goodbye. Besides the occasional lunches we may haf tgt, there seems no chance of mi working there in the near future. I wld miss my colleagues! Perhaps previousli when it was the end of my attachment, I had the implicit notion dat I may go bac there to work part-time during the holz. But now dat I haf oredi found a job n my next hol wld be spent in USA, the chance iz minimised to zero.

Had a fantastic time at KTV wif my fellow colleagues! Haha. It was at Braddell Community Centre. Haha, nv heard of it yea? But the rates were good. They go by the number of hours so it was $60 for 4 hrs. Compared to the rates at KBox or PartyWorld on a Fri nite, thiz was a catch!

Heez, so it was an eventful Fri nite.

YQ iz finalli bac from Thailand! Met up wif her n the rest on Thurs n we went Settlers Cafe for some games. Heez, I realised I realli missed them. It felt realli good being wif them. We had all been so busy wif our own stuff thiz hol dat we dint meet up much. Haha, I still rem the exam period when we juz made our way to SAC the moment we opened our eyes n gg bac to hall onli when the sun had long retired for the day.

Hafta attend a wedding dinner later. Haha, my mum's cousin's son iz getting married. He's onli 22. He iz one of the most good-looking guys I haf ever met. Though I meet him onli once a year. Haha. He's from my mum's side so I aint veri familiar wif the ppl, but I rem when I was bout the age of 12, I started noticing thiz guy hu appeared once a year on the same day at my grandpa's place. It was always nian2 chu1 er4, becoz datz when I went to my grandpa's place during Chinese New Year. Haha. N his name iz Jeremy. So far, the 'Jeremy's I haf met r all pretty-good looking. I hope I dun meet an exception! Haha.

Getting married at the age of 22 iz realli young huh. By the time he iz 30 n another of his fren gets married, he wld haf oredi been married for 8 years. Haha. Budden again, if datz the person u r gg to spend the rest of ur life wif, y not? Datz pretty sweet.

Results were out on Thurs. N I muz say I m not satisfied wif my results. But well, itz all over. I m glad though, dat I cleared both my Maths modules. The module which I tot I was so gg to flung got C, while the other got B+. N so, if I clear my next module, I wld get my minor. The C for dat module juz spoilt my gd record for the Maths modules. But well, I m more than glad I cleared it. Imagine I haf to take 2 Maths modules amidst the siong timetable I oredi haf next sem!

I shall go n nua now n wait for time to pass b4 I get ready to go for the wedding dinner. Thiz sounds so much like Bui. I m still somewhat amused dat Bui actualli considers nua-ing to be part of his daily routine. Itz a necessity. I think itz more impt to him than I m. Haha.

Oh therez sth interesting. On Xmas day Bui n I were at Changi Village when we saw thiz fat n lazy cat which was lying in a superbly lazy position. Itz legs were in the air n when someone went to disturb it, it simply turned to the other side n continued... lying down. How lazy! The amazing thing bout it was dat it was so fat n lazy dat everione hu passed by stopped to look at it. 100% of the ppl, no less. Bui n I were queueing for the Nasi Lemak hence we witnessed everithing. Can u imagine? There were even a few times when a crowd formed to look at the cat. Omg. I realli wonder if the cat noes dat there r mani ppl watching it. Does it simply dun care, or was it enjoying the attention? Haha. Lazy fat cat.

Had a tiring day at work. Had hardly rested ever since the holz started. But juz as well. Thiz means dat the holz iz a fulfilling one for mi. Rite now I m juz struggling to hang in there. Tmr'z Thurs oredi! I shall patiently await the arrival of the long long wkend.

The day before Xmas eve Bui n I went for the Jay Chou movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". Dint plan on watching it, but my aunt had booked the tics but cldnt make it in the last min, so she gave the tics to mi. Pardon my lack of appreciation, but I dint realli find the movie engaging n substantial. At the end of the movie I was like, ok Chou Yun Fatt was the bad guy n their costumes were gold-glittery. I had expected more from the show.

It was Caps Day for Bui n I. We were both wearing the caps his sis bought for us during her honeymoon trip in Korea. Datz fun. We havnt realli seen each other wif caps before. But wherez Bui looking?

Earli Merry Xmas!

Xmas was fun. It was Chinese New Year style Xmas celebration. Had home-made steamboat wif Bui n JY n NK. Haha. We bought too much food! Duhhh. Bui n I were the ones hu did the shopping. BUT, Bui was the 'hungry' one hu seemed to think food was nv enuf n dat there ought to be alot of food during Xmas. So as he walked behind mi, he conveniently took one more packet of each food item I took, of which I oredi took 2 packets for each (it was more than sufficient considering we haf so mani items!). Gd thing Bui was the host, so he ended up keeping all the unfinished food. N I made spaghetti n mashed potato as well! Haha, it was my first time making mashed potato n it turned out alrite! *GrinZzz* But I forgot to take pics of my masterpieces. =(

After dinner which was oredi close to 11pm, we played mahjong. Haha. I lost. Lady Luck juz wasnt wif mi. But I had an enjoyable time! So dat was Xmas eve.

On Xmas day morning I had nasi lemak n fried carrot cake from Changi Village. The nasi lemak (which we had queued for a long long time) was so-so, but the carrot cake was FANTASTIC! The carrot cake was home-made, n I cld realli identify the radish taste in the cake! Yummmz. I m a lover for roots - carrot, radish, potato, sweet potato, tapioca, lotus root n the list goes on. I especially love radish soup so I m absolutely heads over heels bout the carrot cake. Can u imagine the efforts the vendor had put into the plate of carrot cake? I haf watched from TV dat the process of making carrot cake iz realli tedious. I savoured every bit of the carrot cake and thanked the vendor quietly in my heart for his sincerity in the simple plate of carrot cake.

Went for a family gathering at my uncle's place in the evening. Watched DVDs. Both shows were bout gangster triads in HK which had pretty gruesome n violent scenes. Eeeeks. But the actor Zhen1 Zi3 Dan1 iz realli shuai! Good build n impressive fighting scenes. Heeeez. One more guy to admire.

I tink in life everione shd grant themselves a certain amount of space for day-dreaming. Cuz letz face it, day-dreaming keeps us gg.

Ate another SIns chocolates which Bui gave mi (Shuwen had given mi SIns chocs too!). Thiz time it was the one wif lychee martini. It was nice! One bite into it the smooth filling of lychee martini oozed out. I allowed it to spread all over my tongue n enjoyed everi single bit of it before moving on to the smooth outer layer choc. Despite the half a centimetre diameter ucler in the gum right under my tongue, the taste of the piece of SIns choc was not the least bit affected. Oh no, I m toking bout food again. Muahaha.

I had better go slp. Haf been 5 mins late everidae for quite a few days running. Haha. Nitey! *SnoRezzz*

Sometimes I realli wish I dun haf to grow up. Along wif growing up comes more responsibilities n burdens. U become aware of more things n u noe u juz haf to do more. Sometimes I wish I can juz pretend I dunno certain things. Maybe itz wise to adopt escapism policy during certain times. Times when nothing but such a method works.

But yet as SBB once pointed out, I m too smart for my own good. I noe things I shd noe, but I too noe things I shd not noe. I m not toking bout affairs of the heart here, I m toking bout life. Juz life. In life, there r so mani things to be handled n dealt wif each day n I suddenli feel each happi day dat iz granted to mi iz a blessing. I hope for more of such days, but deep in my heart I m fully aware dat some day unhappi incidents will happen again. But well, thiz iz juz part n parcel of life.

Once again, my heart feels like it weighs a ton. Despite knowing such a feeling will go away, I cant help but face the truth. I guess the thing bout mi iz I wan to escape from some things, but I nv do realli escape from it. I force myself into thinking dat I m fine, onli to burst out when I cant take it animore. I m like thiz whether in terms of sch work, family or r/s. Shd I be rational n face the issue head-on when there iz one, or shd I allow myself some indulgence to be immersed in my own world for a while, n hope the issue will subside?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz.

Todae was the Xmas party at SMC! Haha. The meal was not bad n I got another prize. Haha. Well, everione got a prize. But guess wat? I got the last prize! Hahaha. When my mgr went up to draw the names, I was telling my frens I dint wan my name to be announced so earli. But after I finished saying, I heard my name. Muahaha. There were 46 ppl n 46 prizes n I got the 46th prize.

Big Boss gave a speech n he started asking newbies in the firm to gif a self-intro speech. I wasnt exactly new n I tot I wld be spared. But nah, before I knew it I heard my name n so I stood up n gave an impromptu speech. Haha. Juz as I finished n was sitting down, amidst the laughter Big Boss said, "So r u gg to come bac n work after u graduate?" But luckily, the circumstances allowed mi to act as though I dint hear wat he said. The actual fact iz I realli dint hear, but Lay Peng tol mi. Hmmm, I escaped again. Heez.

Big Boss later announced dat everione was free to knock off once they had finished their urgent work. I wished he had stated a time. Haha, I m Maris now, my work iz always urgent! But as my colleagues left one by one, I made the decision to pack my bag n leave at 515pm. Haha. Said Merry Xmas n Happi Advanced Bdae to Big Boss. Good way to run off! Kekeke.

Thiz week iz so tiring. Went out after work everidae. Mon was DnD, Tues I met Bui, Wed itz Pandan Gang n Thurs was the Archery team. Sooooo tired. But the time was well-spent. Wan more of such time.

It was a tiring day todae. Work iz tiring todae n yesterdae. Cuz it was kinda like doing 2 persons' jobs. But well, itz good experience.

It was SMC's annual Xmas dinner yesterdae. Haha, the food was great! Absolutely scrumptious. But too bad I wasnt quite myself yesterdae. I dint touch the desserts at all. But well, I had fun being there wif the gals n fellow colleagues, learning a little bit of dance, n winning a Renoma key pouch in the lucky draw! Haha. When the emcee announced the 18th prize was gg to be a Renoma wallet, my immediate thought was Bui needed one. If I won it, I cld gif it to Bui. The next moment, I heard the emcee say, "Eight seven: eighty-seven." Dat was my number! Haha. Man, was it a pleasant surprise. N, dat was the number I had chosen myself. Cuz it contains my two fave digits. =)

Had dinner wif Bui at Bugis juz now. N I m gg there tmr again! Haha. Bugis Bugis. Had a nice time wif Bui juz now. Bought a watch for Bui. Itz a G Shock. Hope Bui likes it. =)

Will be meeting the Pandan Gang tmr. Haha. So looking forward to it. Thurs will be meeting the Archery guys. So busy! Speedwing requires us to go down again to make payment. Worse, there r forms to be filled n nd to tk photos! So mafan! URGH. I dun haf time to tk the photo. Haiz, will haf to squeeze some time out somehow. Itz an exciting but tiring week. Glad dat I m gg to meet so mani frens. However, I wish I can haf a couple of hours to rest properli, i.e. rest n do nothing at home. But well, itz not gg to stop mi! I m so gg to haf FUN!!!!!

I RAIDED THE MANGO SALE AND RETURNED WIF... one jacket n a top. Haha. Not too victorious but I m veri proud of the jacket I bought! The original price was $149 n I got it at $74. Half price!

It was Bui hu encouraged mi to go into the sale. But he regretted. Haha. He got so sian dat he went to stand at a corner where a few other guys were standing. All victims of the sale. Haha.

Yesterdae was Uncle Khoo's last day at SMC. Heez. The few of us bought him a bottle of Yomeishu. Took a few pics wif him but he refused to take pics alone.

Watched "Happy Feet" yesterdae. It was awesome. I absolutely heart the baby penguins. They r so cuteeeeeeeeee!

Went for Boon Teck's bdae party after dat. It was nice seeing 4J'01! Almost the whole class was there I tink. At least for the gals. Had a fabulous time there n the food was nice! There was thiz fried wanton which I was hooked onto. I kept eating it. Haha.

During the cake-cutting, Boon's relatives made him retrieve a candle they had pushed into the cake using his mouth. N of coz the usual routine, push his face into the cake. Haha, at first onli the mouth got it. Word has it dat after we retreated to outside of the house to talk, his whole face went down. Haha. His relatives r so playful!

Before we left Boon's place, we talked to Boon n wished him Happi Bdae. Den MZ jokingly asked when we wld be attending his wedding dinner den he solemnly replied, "4 years later" n quickly closed the door so dat his gf wun hear. He said he intended to propose in 4 years time. We were all taken aback by his answer. It had meant to be a joke but we cld tell from Boon's expression he was dead serious. I tink Boon's reply triggered sth in all of us. We all started to tink bout ourselves, at least the matter did set mi thinking alot. But one thing unanimous, we were all touched by Boon. It was realli veri nan2 de2 for a guy of our age to think so much, to be sure he wld be wif his gal, to gif her a promise not mani guys r capable of. Bravo Boon!

The Pandan Gang plus Jenn Ro went to Swensens at town after the party. It was great being wif them. Such gatherings simply make mi miss the Pandan gals alot. Itz been years but I still wish we didnt haf to go separate ways after O'Levels. In JC I was still pinning hope we wld get bac tgt in uni, but dat dint happen too. Not to mention in the future. If we were all studying tgt, I wld haf the gals by my side always, n maybe the lonely n miserable times I had been thru alone wldnt haf been so bad. Maybe everithing else wldnt haf been so bad.

Aniwae I found out the reason y the pictures I haf been taking recently r all blur. Thanx to HJ-pandan for enlightening mi! Haha. Cuz I dint use flash. Muahaha.

Toked to Apple a few moments back. Her opinion was, if I noe clearly I wan to do tax, den I shd go into tax. I did tink to myself. Even if I wan to learn bout audit in order to gain knowledge which will assist mi in my tax work in the future, do I haf to spend two years on it? Besides, therez not much I can learn within two years. Onli in my senior year dat I wld be able to learn more. My mgr at SMC did tell mi mani tax mgrs in the Big Four started off from tax n it dint hinder their careers one bit.

I tink I m more or less on tax. Once again, I cross paths wif KPMG. Hi my former colleagues, I m bac.

So tired. Still rem when I reported for work yesterdae, the receptionist, Uncle Khoo, said I looked brighter, fresher n prettier, BUT, at the end of my one-month stay there, I wld look jaded again. Haha. I tink Uncle Khoo has got a gd sense of humour. He used to tell us his English name was "Honey", Mr Honey Khoo. Bliv it or not, I blived it for a few days.

Although it iz onli my second day of work at SMC, I feel extremely comfortable n settled in, as though I havnt left b4. I cant bliv how busy I m, my In tray iz always full. The rate at which my mgr places stuff in iz faster than dat of mi getting it out. Not dat I m slow, but there r simply too mani things to be done. My mgr has mani assignments on hand n she has been rushing an advisory assignment for the whole of todae. It doesnt help dat the two assistants under her r on leave at the same time. N datz where I come into the picture.

Juz as well actualli. I m a workaholic. I wld rather haf too mani things to do than haf nth to do at all. I haf a veri gd r/s wif my colleagues, esp my lunch clique. Lunch time iz always fun. Glad to be working at SMC again!

Yesterdae I did sth not-so-tactful. Feel abit dumb now. Was sitting at my new table doing stuff when the big boss of SMC came over n talked to mi. He asked if I was in my final yrn wat I was gg to do after my graduation. I blatantly tol him dat I haf two offers from Big Four on hand, which was the truth. Den he smiled n wish mi all the best in my career. After a while, my mgr said to mi, "He asked u juz now ar?" I said, "Yah." "He had wanted to ask u to join", said my mgr. I was like, oooopzz. I was so untactful. It was realli duhh of mi.

I m so glad I chose the correct PA company. I tink I haf to thank Bui alot. He was the one hu scolded mi for making abrupt decisions regarding my PA, n oso he was the one hu had frens at SMC b4. Dat was the reason I had put SMC as my first choice for PA. Thank you Bui.

Tink I wld probably work in SMC some day down the road, like when I m married wif kids. Haha. At dat time, I probably dun haf the time n energy to be fighting in the Big Four animore. I hope my current colleagues will still be there! They r the reason y I love the place so much!

Met Bui after work n went VivoCity. AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I wanna complain bout Bui!!! AGAIN.

We were sitting by the sea outside the shopping mall of VivoCity enjoying the nite when a boy came over to sell roses. (Letz call him 'Flower Boy'.) The roses were not too badly wrapped, n all of them were singly wrapped. N so the Flower Boy came over n 'attacked' the couple. "Would u like to buy a rose for ur girlfriend?", said the young boy. The old boy hu sat beside mi gave a reply which went, "No." I tink the Flower Boy was surprised becoz he looked at mi in a weird way, as though to say "Huh? How come thiz guy lidat?" n "How cld u allow ur bf to be lidat? Make him buy one for u." Well, I thought it wld be quite sweet if Bui get mi a rose, but being my bf's gf, of coz I muz be on his side. Soooo, I tol the Flower Boy, "Nah, I tink itz okie. Thanx."

After the Flower Boy went away, I stared at Bui n tol him he was stingy. Haha, jokingly of coz. Den I 'refused' to sit next to him n wldnt even be near him. Haha. Den Bui asked wat occasion it was n said the Flower Boy was juz trying to make money. Which business doesnt wan to make money??? But dat wasnt the worst. The worst thing was, Bui dint even bother to ask his fave qn - "How much?" He simply said no! Haha. I questioned Bui bout thiz. I was sure the rose wldnt haf cost more than $5. Besides, I bought him more than $5 worth of Chocolate Mix from Candy Empire earlier on. GGGrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh well, he treated to mi coffee n cake from Gloria Jeans. But Bui did promise he wld buy mi one next time. (Ah Bui, itz down in black n yellow. U haf to honour it.)

Haha, the piece of cake I had from Gloria Jeans dint taste as gd as it looked. I was spoilt for choice standing in front of the cake counter. There was Tuxedo Cake, Mortal Sin, Chocolate n Jamaican Truffle. Bui chose Jamaican Truffle for mi. The outer layer n the cream iz nice, but the cake iz too hard, way too hard. Gonna try another one the next time.

Itz a tough decision.

I havnt found myself in such a dilemma b4. A decision which will determine the kind of life n job I haf for 2 yrs starting from July 2007. I love tax. I noe I gonna end there. But I realli dunno if I shd jump straight into it. It goes two ways. One, if I m gg to end it there, I might as well start there. Two, the first 2 yrs r probably the onli time I wld ever get to try audit.

Tax iz suitable for mi I noe. But audit iz oso fun in the sense dat I wld be able to meet alot of ppl from different fields. Tax iz gonna be more desk-bound for sure. The KP director did tell mi, tax iz sth u shd do for more that 3 yrs, becoz datz the time when u start to get exposed to more challenging aspects of tax. The first 3 yrs iz to get the basics right, to grasp the foundation.

Sought the opinions of my manager n supervisor todae bac at SMC. They both agree I wld be able to c more in audit. My supervisor was more for the idea of starting wif audit, while my mgr was fine wif both. She was encouraging towards both. She said by doing audit one wld get to learn a large realm of knowledge, but if I m dead sure I like tax, therez nothing wrong wif starting wif tax, n dat mani of the tax mgrs in the Big Four all started straight from tax. I m not sure.

The deadline iz drawing closer as each second passes. I tot I was veri happi-go-lucki. But thiz iz such a difficult decision. Seriousli havnt experienced having to make such a tough decision b4. Y did I put one audit one tax? Well, all becoz I dint realli noe wat I wan right from the start.

Went for the Deloitte networking nite yest. Made mi more confused becoz I was reminded of the fact dat I may haf an opportunity to do GFS if I join DT. *Horrible feeling!*

Met up wif Weijie n Huijing b4 gg over to Hilton Hotel. But Huijing got sick after dat so Weijie n I sent her bac.

Mi at home b4 gg to meet WJ n Huijing. WAs nua-ing when the sudden plan to meet earlier came knocking.

Met up wif the Archery peeps to haf a dinner tgt b4 YQ set off for her YEP thiz Sunday. Ate at the Big O. Had thiz bacon wrapped chicken leg which name sounded extremely alluring but turned out to be below expectation. I was visualising a whole chicken thigh wrapped in a whole piece of bacon n baked! It turned out to be small chunks of meat. It was chicken leg meat alrite. But not the way I had wanted it to be.

Went off to Takashimaya after dinner. Since I wasnt too satisfied wif the meal, I had some other food to make it up! I ate thiz curry fishball from the Taka food paradise. It was too much for a single person to finish alone I feel. For a gal at least. Not too mention the amt of fat n calories, but oso it was heaty. Pimples pimples pimples. But still, I finished it. Keke.

The rest of them had ice-cream after dat but I managed to withhold myself! Mostly becoz I had oredi spent alot of money todae, almost all of my pay for the day, n oso I dint noe wat flavor I wanted. Vanilla seems gd, dark chocolate iz irresistable, lemon iz refreshing.. I tried the mint flavor which YQ bought, it was nice too. So I dint haf any in the end. Tink I wld wait for Bui to share one wif mi. ^_^

The Xmas tree in Taka is magnificent! I was telling Derick when I was young, I used to wonder how the huge n tall Xmas tree managed to squeeze thru the door. Did they carry it horizontally first or wat? It was dumb. Haha. Took some pics 'wif' the Xmas tree. SBB was enthusiastic so we let him haf the first go. Muahaha. He was 'angry' n turned off by the pic Derick took. Check it out.

Looked at the KP contract which was lying on my table. Tax or Audit? A career which wld be smooth n allow mi to enjoy life more, or one which grants mi vast exposure but leaves mi no daylight to enjoy?
